The rest of the world is finding out what we in Central Florida already know: We have some talented folks here.

Dewey Chaffee and Douglas McGeoch have taken their “Screw You Revue,” featuring the guys as Wayburn Sassy and Didi Panache, to Provincetown, Mass., where they’ve been performing more than a month. The foul-mouthed, funny show was so well received, it was held over for added performances.

Also getting held over — Chase Padgett, who rocked the Edmonton International Fringe Theatre Festival with “6 Guitars.” The Edmonton Fringe, in the Western Canadian province of Alberta, is North America’s oldest and largest Fringe.

Padgett reports he sold out every show at the Edmonton Fringe but one — and that followed a sold-out run at the Calgary Fringe Festival.

Next up for “6 Guitars,” which has been a smash sell-out hit locally as well: Performances in San Antonio, Houston and Austin, Texas (for dates that coincide with the 10th Austin City Limits Music Festival).

Then, it’s on the East Coast for off-Broadway performances in October-November in New York City. Keep up with Padgett at sixguitars.com.

Meanwhile, in Provincetown, Chaffee and McGeoch have been hobnobbing with the rich and famous.

Writer/producer/director Del Shores (Queer as Folk, Sordid Lives, Southern Baptist Sissies) attended the show and gave Wayburn and Didi a standing ovation. The guys had dinner with Shores and hint they might be working him him in the future.

Comedian Paula Poundstone was performing in a nearby venue, and Wayburn met up with her — giving Chaffee the chance to tell Poundstone how she’d been a major influence in his decision to do audience-interactive improvised comedy.

And the guys were able to stop by and see fan Leslie Jordan (The Help, Will and Grace).  As a thank-you for his continued support of The Screw You Revue, Chaffee and McGeoch presented him with a bouquet of hot-pink roses.

While here, we also had the great fortune of two separate producers seeing our show and expressing interest in working with us in the future. As the year progresses, we’ll be working with each of them to set-up our tour for 2012.

The duo have also been talking up the Orlando Fringe Festival — suggesting to “Miranda Sings” creator Colleen Ballinger to consider applying to our festival. And perhaps most important for the future of Wayburn, Didi and their pals, Chaffee and McGeoch have been meeting with producers.
